How to play Court Piece
4 players in two teams, 52 cards. Partners sit opposite each other. Everyone gets 13 cards, so there are 13 tricks a hand.
Calling trump (rang)
Everyone first gets 5 cards. The player after the dealer looks at theirs and calls trump, then the rest of the cards are dealt and the caller leads the first trick.
Play
- Follow the suit that was led if you can. If you can't, you may trump or throw anything.
- Highest trump wins, otherwise the highest card of the suit led. The winner leads next.
Winning
- The first team to 7 tricks wins the hand and 1 point.
- If one team takes the first 7 tricks, play goes on: winning all 13 is a kot, worth 2 points.
- If the trump caller's team wins, the same dealer deals again; if not, the deal moves on.
- The first team to the target (5 points by default) wins the match.
